Opportunities for Philanthropy beyond Fundraising
United Way of 1000 Lakes offers opportunities for people to practice the art of philanthropy. Through programs like GIVING WITH CLASS, an elementary school philanthropy project; the Bright Red Bookshelf, where people can donate gently used children’s books which are given out at no charge, United Way of 1000 Lakes encourages and supports philanthropy of time and talent as well as treasure so we can all LIVE UNITED.
"Giving With Class" School Philanthropy
A program that teaches elementary students the art of doing something nice to benefit others. It is open to all elementary classes in Itasca County school districts 316, 317 & 318.

Children First! Children's Fair
Each spring, Children First sponsors a community Children’s Fair with exciting things for children and families to do, experience and learn from. United Way of 1000 Lakes participates annually.
