History

When the owners of The Lake + Co Shop and Moxie opened their store in Grand Rapids, they teamed up with us to create a signature social networking and fundraising combo night to support the work of United Way.

The initiative, called Meet the Brewer, collaborates with brewers from around the state. Held in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk in Grand Rapids, the event invites community members and visitors to mingle with friends and colleagues, and take part in a unique tasting experience while having fun and doing good.

For a free will donation, guests mingle while enjoying a guided sampling of specialty beers and take part in an interactive demonstration by the featured brewer. United Way staff and volunteers are also present to share information about more ways to connect to community, learn about causes, and to give back.

Open to the public, Meet the Brewer is held the First Friday of each month from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Lake + Co Shop (403 NW 1st Ave, Grand Rapids). For more information, call 218-999-7570.
